BOOK LAYOUT
eBook & Print Publication Design
Project Overview
The objective of this project was to design a comprehensive interior layout and cover for a 21-day prayer devotional, prepared for both digital ebook distribution and physical print publishing. The primary focus centered on establishing a cohesive typographic hierarchy, balanced page margins, and intuitive page structures that enhanced readability for daily devotional use. The production workflow required converting raw text manuscripts into polished layouts while ensuring precise print mechanical setup for commercial binding and press output.
My Role
When I designed this publication through my agency, Kcgrafix, Inc., on a freelance engagement for a partner marketing firm and their church client, I served as the lead publication designer and prepress artist. My responsibilities encompassed page layout design, typography styling, custom graphic accents, PDF accessibility optimization for the digital ebook, and print file preparation including bleeds, trim setups, and color profile management.
Software Used
Adobe InDesign (including ePub), Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat.
Project Contributors
This was a collaborative agency project executed in partnership with the marketing firm's strategic directors, copy editors, and the church ministry leadership team.
